Adamax is an enhanced nootropic peptide spray formulation that incorporates adamantane-modified peptide compounds for intranasal delivery. Adamantane is a diamondoid hydrocarbon cage structure (C₁₀H₁₆) that has been utilized in medicinal chemistry to enhance the lipophilicity, metabolic stability, and blood-brain barrier penetration of pharmacologically active compounds. The adamantane moiety has a well-established history in pharmaceutical development, most notably in amantadine and memantine, both of which are approved CNS-active drugs. Selank is a synthetic analog of the endogenous tetrapeptide tuftsin with anxiolytic and nootropic properties, studied for its modulation of GABA-ergic neurotransmission and IL-6 expression.

The intranasal delivery route is particularly relevant for CNS-targeted peptide compounds, as it provides direct access to the brain via the olfactory epithelium and trigeminal nerve pathways.
